Hey guys,
Newbie here, this place is great! there are so many resources it's awesome!
So here I am, there are a couple of things I would like to work out I'm on a project of building my own electric bicycle for school and there are a couple of things I'd like to ask you:
[list=]I saw that Portable electric drill batteries could be used to power my bicycle, do you guys know what it would entail in terms of ESC & Motor? I'd use a motor requiring an ESC of 50A. As a rule of thumb, I'd guess that my drill battery has to achieve 50C (even though it's not listed) (I thought of using those e.g http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ryobi-4-0Ah-Li- ... B00BRGR2PM would you?) I'm a bit scared of using a Lipo in case of a random scratch/accident.
I saw on a blog a couple of guys saying they switched their ESC from being a Speed controller to a Torque Controller, do you guys know what would I gain doing the same? Also what kind of hardware & software would I need to configure my ESC/ETC? (for reference: http://boostedboards.posthaven.com/) As I would like to manage myself what gas I'm getting when pushing by 1cm e.g
Last for today, in order to transmit the info, I'd need to make my own compact remote control, I haven't seen any that would work solely for torque and I don't want something that's bulky. Any help/link/how-to & tutorial would be Immensely appreciated!!
