There's only a V1 and V2 -- the V1 using the old DSSS system and two receivers, the V2 using FHSS and a single receiver.

The binding process involves plugging the bind plug into the battery port and the battery into any other port -- then holding down the transmitter's BIND button while turning it on - then turning on the receiver. You should see the little receiver LED flicker and then stay on.

Turn off the receiver and remove the bind plug. Turn off the transmitter. Now you're all bound up and ready to go.

As for the manual -- there are a few of the old manuals available online at various places but I'm going to try and get my version finished this weekend -- since the weather is still so foul here (and has been for over a month).
