Lipo alarm on individual cell?

Lipo alarm on individual cell?

Postby aesmith » Tue Dec 14, 2010 4:28 pm

Hi,

I'm still not totally convinced that telemetry would be something that I'd particularly value, but I can see the benefit in some alarms like low battery or poor signal strength. One that I wondered about was whether you could alarm on a low cell within a Lipo pack. I was turning it over in my head, to see if there was a simple circuit that would expose the voltage of the lowest cell from the pack. Does that sound possible?

A warning on the lowest individual cell sounds eminently practical for those of us who sometimes use El-Cheapo packs.

I use the "Quanum" unit [~$50] from Hobby King.
