How to install a trainer plug?

If you've been building electronic bits or modifying stuff you've bought then tell us all about it here. A good place to discuss the installation of 2.4GHz DIY modules too.

How to install a trainer plug?

Postby amtpdb1 » Thu Jun 13, 2013 10:55 pm

I purchased an airtronics rds 8000 many years ago. I purchased a aero sport 5 channel 2.4 radio a few years back to just get the receiver. I was wondering how hard it would be to set up the aero sport to be a trainer box? It does not have a plug so it would have to be installed and someone would have to know what wires to attach to where. Anyone want to take a shot at it? I am sure some of you are saying that it is simple and why don't you jump in and teach the rest of us something?
Thanks for any help in this project. Pictures would be nice with an explanation on what is being done.

Thanks
Don

loads of reading, for the most part you will have to find a compatible signal in your transmitter

If you're handy with a soldering iron and have at least a PC based scope http://www.zeitnitz.de/Christian/scope_en you can probe around the PPM IC for an appropriate signal http://sdrv.ms/16nWp2f

Although this technique was successful for grabbing a signal for Simulation, I'm not sure about the full characteristics of trainer plugs :-(
