Turnigy 9X with OLED display

Postby glenncol » Wed Feb 22, 2012 6:44 am

Hell all

I noticed on the attached link someone has fitted a .96" OLED display with an unknown (Too me anyway) transmitter displaying Frsky Telemetry information.

Does anyone know what needs to be done to do this, i think its way cool and would suite the 9X variants down the ground

In Bruce's latest video he mentioned a company Statistronics who carry the OLED display

You need to have a microcontroller interface between the OLED display and the telemetry data coming out of the FrSky module or DIY. This is what I designed with the RCModelReviews telemetry dashboard but I used an LCD rather than an OLED (bigger, easier to read).

You can get a telemetry display from FrSky: http://goo.gl/TeB0k

You can also get the display w/transmitter built in that just mounts on your radio: http://goo.gl/XsOv1

And finally, if you are using a 9x radio, you can always add the FrSky 2 way hack module or the plug in JR module and then do a bit of modding and install ER9X software and have all your telemetry displayed on the radio's own screen. More info at: http://goo.gl/2Q2mz

Hey Christian

I have the Flysky version of the 9X with the Frsky DJT module plugged in that has Telemetry , i assume by flashing the firmware to the ER9X will do the job

What modding needs too be done?

Head over to 9xforums.com where you'll find all the information you would need. A quick link to the details of the hardware mod (you need to get the information into the radio from the module, then you'll need to flash to the telemetry specific version of er9x) can be found here.
