I'm currently doing the same on a world models 1/6th cub.I will put the rx on a little shelf glued to the right inside below the windows. The rx will be attached to the shelf with velcro.I will make a small hole in the side to feed 1 aerial through, with the other pointing straight down to the bottom of the fuse.Apparently, having the 2 aerials at 90 degrees to each other is the most important. If you have the single aerial rx,I wouldn't worry unless the fuse was fibreglass.

plastic and wood (i.e. most aircraft) will not stop radio waves, keep the antenna away from wires, metal, and carbon fibre for max range
