My Credentials
So who's doing this reviewing then?

Well I've been building and flying or driving radio controlled models for over 40 years and during that time I like to think I've built up a reasonable amount of knowledge.

I'm also a qualified electronics engineer who has worked in radio frequency, analog, digital systems and software for more than three decades. In fact I designed and built my first RC set back in 1969.

For the past nine years I've also been involved in the design and manufacture of some rather sophisticated engine technology and UAV flight control systems.

So, chances are I've been there, done that and have a huge pile of tee shirts to prove it.

Right now I'm heavily into 3D flying and enjoy all aspects of the RC hobby. I may be old but I don't feel it.

How to advertise on this site

RC Model Reviews carries different types of advertising: Google AdSense ads and banner spots sold directly to advertisers.

Direct-Purchase Banner Ads

These ads are only available on non-review/shootout pages such as news or "how it works" articles. These pages are the informational and tutorial pages where no specific product is being reviewed or critiqued.

The reason for this limitation is that RC Model Reviews wishes to remain absolutely free from any kind of commercial bias or pressure when reviews are published. I don't want to be accused of saying good things about a product simply because there's a big banner promoting that same item on the review webpage. Although you might see that happening on other sites or in printed magazines, it won't happen here!

As the number of information-pages on this site grows, so will the opportunity for direct-purchase advertising to promote related products so if you're a potential advertiser, do check back regularly.

To purchase a banner ad on a non-review page, contact me. Rates are very reasonable but also reflect the value that these pages represent to the modelling community and those who advertise on them.

Google AdWords placements

Again, to ensure objectivity and remove any allegations of commercial bias, ads which appear on review or shoot-out pages are not handled by RC Model Reviews. These placements are made exclusively by Google and I have no control over what appears in those ads.

Although there may be advertisements for the products being reviewed, that is something which Google takes care of and thus is completely beyond the control of RC Model Reviews. By taking this approach I can guarantee that there are there are no "write a nice review and we'll buy a banner" type of pressures going on behind the scenes.

Advertisers wishing to place ads in these positions need to place those ads through Google.
